500Pts Blood Angel Allies and a little Cygnar

I've finished off the Blood Angels for my 1st 6th Ed Tourney next weekend. I'm going to be using 6 Assault Terminators (4 Hammerrs, 2 Claws) with a Terminator Librarian and then some scout Snipers to make up the Troops choice.

I got to include 3 of the Space Hulk Models and have magnetised them to big bases, I also gave the Libby a storm shield, it's a bit of defiler leg.

I've also been doing some more work on my Cygnar for Warmachine, after 4 losses the other day learning I've got the bug! I imagine this blog will be having a fair bit more Warmachine content in the coming months, I do have a pact with myself to buy no more before what I have is painted, Warmachine only.

And now for something completely different.





So I've started up some Warmachine because of some people at work playing it. I bought myself a Cygnar Battlebox. I opted to paint them Yellow.

Deployment.
I got first turn and opted to take it. I deployed with the Lootas in the centre and the grots on the far right holding that quarter. The Bikers went on the left hand side of the centre with the Trukks on the right, the Buggies flanking to the far right.



Rob deployed in a long gun line with the Manticores and Hydras on the right, Chimeras in the Centre and 2 Vendettas on my left, the other one on the right. The guardsmen deployed behind.

Ork Turn 1
The Bikers shot forward as did the Trukks. The Lootas failed to make a dent in the Shooting as did the Buggies.


Imperial Guard Turn 1
Two chimeras attempted to move and managed to immobilize themselves. Another two moved up. Everything opened up on the Bikers, they took a lot of hits, and enough of them go through, then the Psykers made them Ld 1, they fled. This thankfully meant that everything else lived through the turn unscathed.


Ork Turn 2
The Bikes continued to flee off the table, with no chance of Rallying. The Trukks hit the Guard line and all the Boyz bailed out ready to engage. The Lootas managed to wreck one of the Vendettas forcing the squad inside to bail out. The Assaulting Boyz managed to Kill: 2 Hydras, 2 Chimeras and 2 Squads of Guardsmen in combat.





Imperial Guard Turn 2
The chimeras pivoted to line up the flamers, and the squad of Guardsmen with flamers jumped out of the right Vendetta. The Following firestorm saw 2 Mobs of boys break or die. The Meganobz lost 2 and the other 2 squads were diminished.



Ork Turn 3
The MegaNob headed towards the guardsmen behind the chimera and the last squad of Boyz assaulted a Chimera. The Trukks Lootas and Buggies attempted some shooting but failed to make an impact.

Imperial Guard Turn 3
Marbo turns up right next to the grots and the remaining units move into position to continue to flame. I take a more casualties and the rest of the Boyz break, all I’m left with is the Grots, Lootas, a Big Mek and a couple of Trukks.


Ork Turn 4
Shooting is ineffectual from all my units and I await my doom.


Imperial Guard Turn 4
Marbo explodes the Grots, the Boyz that are falling back get shot to bits. Another couple of Trukks die, the Meks Trukk gets immobilized. A Manticore manages to immobilize itself on terrain, the Lootas get shot up and break, running off the table.


Ork Turn 5
The Big Mek removes the immobilized result.

Imperial Guard Turn 5
The final round of shooting an maneuvering sees the Big Mek just survive whilst everything else is cleaned up.

Game Ends
Primary: Loss, Secondary: Loss. I managed to get enough points for 1 BP.

It was going so well until Flamers… Losing the Bikers was harsh but was likely to happen anyway. It was a tough matchup but a great game.

Game 4 was against Franks Space Marines, here’s the list:

Dawn of War Deployment, Primary was Annihilation, Secondary seize ground, 3 objectives across the centre line.

Deployment
I ended up being offered 1st turn so I deployed the Nobz and Boss in the centre of the board. The Grots sat on the left hand objective snaking out from cover.

Frank decided to go full reserves, he would have Deep striking Hammernators and 1 Speeder squad, with both sets of scouts Outflanking.

Ork Turn 1
All my kit rolls on, the Trukks and the Bikes heading for the Centre, ready to react to any threats. The Lootas moved up to the right hand ruins whilst the Buggies moved up the left flank.


Space Marine Turn 1
Nothing was on the field.

Ork Turn 2
The Trukks and Bikes got into the most Central positions possible. The Buggies moved up the Centre of the Field and the Loots got into the best positions for Line of sight.


Space Marine Turn 2
This turn saw the arrival of 1 squad of Bikes and Vulkan, a Predator, the Deep striking Speeders, the Sniper Scouts and the Hammernators. The Bikes with Vulkan moved slowly on in the top left, the scouts appeared next to the grots. The Speeders landed in some ruins behind my lines. The Predator attempted to Tank Shock the Bikers but they passed the test and it just sped into nothing. The Hammernators landed just below the Lootas and trudged towards them. The Speers took a shot at a Trukk but failed to make an impact. The bikes managed to Kill ad Buggy and shake another. The Scouts charged the grots and beat them, they then proceeded to flee as fast as they could.



Ork Turn 3
The Grots continued to fall back. The Buggies retreated a bit away from the bikers whilst the Trukks moved into positions to unload the Meganobz and 2 mobs of Boyz onto the Speeders and 1 Trukk unloaded it’s passengers onto the scouts. The Bikers maneuvered to shoot at the Space Marine bikes and Vulkan. The Boyz killed the scouts easily. The other combat failed to do much other than explode 1 speeder and get a weapon destroyed on the other, leaving 1 Melta left alive in that squad, the explosion did kill off a couple of nearby grots and a couple of Boyz.



Space Marine Turn 3
The 2nd Squad of Bikes arrived going flat out up the right hand side. A Predator and the other speeders also arrived on the right. The left hand Bikers shot at the victorious Boyz mod and prepared to charge. The surrounded speeders scarpered away from the sea of Boyz. The Hammernators plodded onwards towards the Lootas. The Predator and the newly arrive speeders shot at the Nobz but they pushed through a hail of fire. In combat the marines on the bikes managed to kill the Boyz mob but only 3 of their number remained.


Ork Turn 4
The Boyz hopped back into their Trukks and headed to the centre again, another mob moved up and hopped out near the remaining bikers on the left. The Nob Bikers swung round and made a beeline for the newly arrived speeders. The Buggies moved up the left flank to get better lines on the centre Predator, they then take a shot and manage to immobilize the vehicle. The Boyz hop out of a Trukk and jump on the Bikers whilst the Nobz get engaged with the Speeders, destroying them.


Space Marine Turn 4
The final scouts arrive in their speeder dropping in near the Lootas. The 2nd Bike squad moved towards the Lootas, as did the Hammernators. The 2nd Predator moves up the right flank. The speeders from the remaining squad move onto the central objective. Vulkan moves through cover to get close to the ongoing combat between the Boyz and the bikes. Shooting see the Lootas taken out by the Bike squad. Combat sees Vulkan join in with the Boyz who manage to finish off the Bikes and move into him.




Ork Turn 5
The Warboss splits off from the Bikers and heads to the immobilized predator whilst the Bikers head for the other predator. The Boyz in Trukks bailout, ready to engage the Speeders on the objective in the centre. The Boss Kills the Predator, the Nobz kill the other one and the Boyz in the centre manage to take out 1 speeder the other survives. Vulkan and the Boyz continue to hash it out.





Space Marine Turn 5
The Storm Speeder moves onto the Central Objective whilst the living speeder zooms away. The Bikes and Hammernators move towards the Nobz. The Nobz take some Melta fire and break, heading table wards. The Vulkan combat continues with no result.



Game Ends.
Primary: Draw, Secondary: Loss (Vulkan had my Boyz off the objective and the centre was contested). VPs were pretty equal overall.

I rolled for first turn.

Deployment
I set up the Bikes on the Left of the Centre, the Trukks on the Right. The Grots were holding an objective down in the Right hand corner with the buggies zooming up the right flank. The Lootas were sat in some woods to the left.

Colin deployed in a line with the Speeders on my left and the Land Raider in the centre with the predators to the right of it, Razorbacks held the tank lines flanks. Bob the Venerable Drednaught was coming in for a turn 1 drop-podding.

Ork Turn 1
I sped across the map, the Bikes going left to right, heading for the Preds, the Trukks going right to left looking to tie up the raider in the centre. The Buggies headed to the right flank looking to take in some side shots on amour. The Lootas managed to down 1 speeder and the Buggies shook the nearest razorback.


Space Marine Turn 1


Bob arrived near my speeding Trukks, the Hammernators and Vulkan hopped out of the Land Raider and moved towards the Bikers. The two remaining speeders hopped the ruins and headed towards the centre. The left hand Razorback hid in the ruins closest to it. Shooting saw 4 of the Trukks get taken out and the Boyz and MegaNobz had to bail out, this unfortunately left them open to shooting from the Dread, who then flamed them. 1 squad of Boyz broke under the fire and headed away. The Hammernators charged into the Bikes and managed to kill 4 Nobz, in return 1 Hammernator went down. The combat having been lost by a vast number of wounds snake eyes was needed, and it appeared! Combat continues!






Ork Turn 2
The fleeing mob continued to do so. The Mega Nobz got a scary look in their eye as they decided it was time for some Dreadnaught Krumpin’. The Pirate Boyz moved through some ruins, looking to get into a fight too. The Mexican Boyz swung round Vulkan and his retinue, ready to get stuck in. The Boyz with Trukk intact headed towards the predators. The Lootas Picked another speeder out of the sky. In combat the Hammernators were all killed and only 1 Nob biker died, leaving Vulkan on his own. The Meganobz and the Pirates managed to take out the dread at the cost of 1 Meganob.


Space Marine Turn 2


The final speeder shot off towards the Lootas at full speed. Whilst the left Razorback rolled forward a bit. Some shots were fired at the remaining Trukk and the Buggies taking out 2 Buggies and the Trukk. Vulkan was finally vanquished in combat by the remaining Orks.

Ork Turn 3
The Pirate Boyz headed towards the drop pod whilst the Meganobz headed towards the Marine lines. The bikes and the Mexican Boyz set out for the Land Raider and the Pirate Boyz head towards the Drop Pod. Lootas shoot at the final speeder but failed to kill it, only shaking it. The Warboss split off from the Bikers to have a crack at the nearest Razorback whilst the Boyz and Bikers got stuck in with the Land Raider. The squad of Boyz on the right headed towards the predator closest to them. The Buggies managed to wreck the Razorback on the Right with some Orky shooting. In combat the Boss Wrecked the Razorback and the Boyz took out a Predator, the Land Raider escaped unscathed




Space Marine Turn 3
The speeder, being unable to shoot zipped over to near the Drop Pod. The Land Raider attempted to Tank shock its way out of trouble but all the Boyz managed to get out the way. The Marines from the destroyed Razorback took some shots at the Warboss but didn’t make a dent, the Boyz mob to the left was crushed by Bolter fire.

Ork Turn 4
The Warboss moved to assault the Marines, the Pirate Boys encircled the speeder and the Meganobz trudged towards the Land Raider. The Final Biker headed towards the living marines on the Right as the Mexican Boyz went for the remaining Predator. The Boss Assaulted and crushed the Marines, the Mexican Boyz finished off the Predator, the Pirates took out the Speeder after the Lootas failed to bring it down again. The Mega Nobz couldn’t break the Land Raiders hull though.


Space Marine Turn 4
The remaining Marines engaged the Last Nob Biker, bringing him down, the Land Raider shot at the MegaNobz but they managed to survive the bullets.


Ork Turn 5
The Warboss gunned his Engines and headed towards the Land Raider, the Nobz trudged over as well. The last of the Mexican Boyz headed towards the few remaining Marines. The Warboss popped the Raider, leaving the Librarian stood out in the cold, the Marine combat was won but they held their ground.

Space Marine Turn 5
The Libby charged the Warboss whilst the combat continued, resulting in a drawn combat, the Librarian however took a Power Klaw to the face and was crushed.


End result, Primary: Win, Secondary: Win, I lost too much so didn’t get a massive victory in terms of points, but there was only 2 Marines left on the board!
