Heavy weapon team bases.

Now that 6th Ed is in full flow I decided it was time to get my heavy weapon teams on some large bases.

Because I'm using classic Valhallans there weren't special bases for them when they were produced they just came as two chaos and a gun or one sat on a gun with a loader.

As I build my Autocanno teams out of Heavy Bolter dudes, they are on the little trolleys.

To get the bases going I decided to do a little bit of modelling and not just glue the dudes onto the bases, to make it easier to transport and mark wounds etc.

I picked up some laser cut wooden bases. from eBay on the cheap, as the plastic GW bases are extortionate.
A pile of bases.

Then using some Modelling clay I made a pancake of the material between two bases.

I then pressed a couple of bases and the train for the lascannon into the clay to give good anchors for the models.

Fitting the Loaders.

In the end I had 8 bases, 4 Autocannon and 4 Lascannon, now they just need to dry and be painted/flocked and I should have some tournament legal Heavy Weapons Teams!

Finished bases.

And now for something completely different.

So I've started up some Warmachine because of some people at work playing it. I bought myself a Cygnar Battlebox. I opted to paint them Yellow.

Waaagh Badruk, motorised edition.

It's been a long time since I've updated, I've been pretty busy putting together what will be my last 5th Ed Ork list and getting that up and running.

I got my 6th edition Book and it's assorted paraphernalia, yeah I got myself a GW manbag...
I#m slowly digesting all the rules and trying to work out what's good and bad for my Waaagh and the Imperials. I might be running an infantry heavy list for the guard, will see.

The main thing that's been in production is my Nob Bikers and Warboss on Bike, the Kult of speed is my theme and I'm sticking with a nicely mobile force.

And here is the big man himself, he'll probably be Wazdakka in 6th Ed if I go with the Biker army I'm planning, you can't argue with 4+ cover and armour saves....hmmm Full Biker army with Wazdakka and Grotsnik Cybork and cover saves all round!

I finished the Mega Nobz for one of my Trukks - Da Manz Missile!

I also have the Other trukks ready to go, along with the buggies (trakks) which are fire support.

Of course the Bikes are done, just waiting for the Nobz to be sorted to ride them.

And no Waaagh would be complete without a Huge pile of Boyz!

I hope to keep updating the blog a bit more, it's hard to remember to photo everything and then upload it.

I have a load of pictures of five 1000pt Highlander games with the Orks, including an excellent Orky Melee

Small Ork Update.

The last three games are currently on hold, I'm trying to write them up but it does take some time.

I went out the local Game Store this weekend to have a quick glance at the new paint range, and pick up some Ork coloured paints.

I saw that they had a few of the Troop n Transport bundles that were limited edition as far as I know, a whole €10 saving on the Boyz boxes and the Trukk, they both give some much needed bitz for converting and another 11 Ork bodies.

Boyz n Trukk
Using the Loota and Burna box you can make 4 Lootas or 4 Burnas, providing you can get four more bodies you can make both, so I picked up a box of them too.

I assembled 1 Deffkopta as well as the Lifta Droppa for the Battlewagon and a Power Klaw nob for the Pirate Boyz.

I'm going to have 1 squad of Pirates and 1 of Sombrero Boyz to start with.
