Most things have been primed, I have 1 week to complete painting of everything you see here to get my army ready.

Tanks

My flamer conversions (I am so proud of these)

Troopers flamers and a Melta

Chimeras

Hydras

Manticores
I made the Autocannons from a bit of Plasticard, magnets and Heavy bolters, they look good.

Autocannons

Flamers and Meltas
Everything!

It's a daunting task but should be dooable, tomorrow I think I#ll start with the tanks and see how things go.

Special Weapons and a whole Stack O' Tanks

So I went to do a bit more tonight, only just realised that I have so much to do before next Friday, it's going to be a struggle.

I have noticed that I do have a lot of Chimera Hulls now, hopefully this will be good.

I submitted my list Yesterday so the nits are set in stone and I need to do a fair few things, including 2 Melta Gunners and 2 Flamers.

Conversion time, GO!

Stack O Mech!

Magnetised hull (property of weetabix Ltd)

Flamer on
I stuck the Manticore turret together and also assembled my Flak Cannons.
Manticore

Flak Cannon
Then I started working on my Special Weapons so I got a Valhallan and some Cadian Bits and got to work.

Flamer time!
Guy No 1 done.

No 2 Front

No 2 Back

No 2 Side
I added in some innards of a Network cable to make the fuel feeds, I'm happy how these turned out.

For the Melta gunners I kinda called it in, take Lasguns then add Melta Ends, these were cut from the Multi Melta sponson weapons that were intended for my Leman Russ, I'm sure that they'll look good when painted.

Melta Gunners

Things to do...  Autocannon conversions x3 for my Heavy bolters, Undercoating and LOTS of painting.

Proposed Warpcon List, provisional

So I was at work and working away, on the list for Warpcon.

The tourney is 1850 and I'm looking forward to it, should be great craic boi...

So I have 160 points left after this list and I'm not sure what to add in, options are:
  • Lord Commissar
  • Commissars and Power Weapons in squads
  • Heavy Weapons Team with Lascannons
  • The Mighty Ratlings
  • Regimental Advisors (Astropath or Oficer of the Fleet) Maybe a Master of Ordanance but that would screw up the CCS Melta power.
  • Hull Lascannons on the Leman Russ.
  • Dropping a couple of little things and getting a Demolisher.
I think I lack the Long Ranged AT capablities of a usual list but this should also pack some punch.

Problem at the moment is models, Ideally I'd have a Psyker Squad in another Chimera to make up the last lot of points. But I lack any form of Psykers, I'd need to get some stuff together to build one, I've some Empire Flaggelants or similar somewhere in Belgium, when the folks come ove in March that might be an option, been looking for other options too, but I don't like the GW models too much.

Ugly aint they

So heres the list, for now, this assumes I get my Bitspudlo Cannons in time, or I have to make another Scratch Cannon, whilst not that hard, it is long.

I will also need to complete my 4 Chimeras y then but that should be a weekend job.

Right now Little Bro is here so time is spent doing things.

Moocon, Battle 3

Game 3
Space Wolves, Pitched Battle, Capture and Control

Game 3 was a simple one, hold my own objective and try and take the enemies.

I decided to go for a 10 man squad on my objective, spread out to prevent wolf scouts, with a 40 man shield who could wander up and nick the enemy objective.

Blob of 40, Mortars and Squad of 10

The Bike Wolves started out by heading for me at full speed, showing no fear the entire army opened up with all weapons, leaving 1 Rune priest alive. GO FLASH LIGHTS!

All the guard shoot, a lot
The remaining priest assaults, and combat is lost but the commissar keeps them in check and we hold the line and fight on, eventually killing the chap.

A Rhino of Wolves then heads down, gets shot up and the blob rolls forward into the fight, after 2 rounds of Combat the wolves lie dead with 12 guys still alive and kicking.

Rhino Wolves un load and the Blob gets stuck in

Whilst this is ongoing the Vets Rock up, they torch the Whirlwind with their Meltas, killing 4 of themselves in the process. and then prepare to feel the retribution from a Pack of Wolves.

Whirlwind down, Marines, angry.

The Veteran Seargeant makes it out of the combat and flees away but then Suddenly a Wild Marbo appears. One Demo Charge Later, no wolves left, 7 of them go down.

Wolf Scouts then appear but on the wrong table edge and they trash teh Hydra, but it's too little to late.

Scouts appear on the flank.

The Blob runs up with the CCS providing orders from the command Chimera, they make the run whilst the Vendetta pops the Razor back, The Vet squad gets rallies to avoid being counted  as destroyed and the objective is taken!

The final push by the blob takes the objective.

This game was a nice win and it showed how effective the blob can be with a commissar. Marbo did well and arrived at just the right time, the scouts coming from the other edge meant I had no threat from them and it was a nice win.

Mounting weapons and "Marbo"

Got on with a bit more stuff this morning, nowt special, first was touching up Marbo, so that he looks lie hes throwing the "demo charge" instead of it being grafted to his hand.

I filed down the top of the belt on the hand and added more of it coming out the bottom of it, I think it looks pretty dynamic now.

Marbo Front

Marbo Back

I was also thinking to make him stand out and fit in with the sort of subterfuge hidden chap striking from the shadows that he needs something to show this.

I want to try and capture him standing up with his charge and chucking it on something whilst his camo is falling away. I saw something like this in a movie once, I think, probably.

The concept it so make a camo netting style cloak, like this:

It does fit the two search criteria, Camo and Net.

Actually more like this:

Urban netting.

So I did a mock up with a bit of tissue paper, the concept is to use Gauss bandage and just cure it in a PVA Water + Paint mix to give it colour and shape, then stick it on. Not sure how it will turn out, I'll make it first then try and apply it.

Camo Netting concept Front

Camo Netting concept Back

Marbo is currently drying after being black primed, so I can paint some of him, going to have to take care with him. Although in games he'll be there for 1 turn...

Next was to look at the Vendettas, with the 2nd Magnet order hopefully here for Thursday

The unpacked paint table, staying neater this time!
I'm going to have to magnetise the Hardpoints as well as the three weapon options for both of the planes.

A hardpoint

Weapon options
I'm also going to have to do the same for the weapon housing on the front of the plane.

Multilaser or Lascannon

How it should fit.
Because when I put the first Valk together I didn't realise that I shouldn't glue everything down I did had to do some pulling and snapping to get things off, so time to fix that mess, using the Liquid green stuff, which is great.

Best brush ever!

Pint filled and hole drilled

Repairs on the rockets.

I also chanced upon my ladys collection of a Blood Angel army that is pretty much untouched. hoping to try and get her playing, either with these or her Dark Space Elves. Theres also a Metal Daemon Prince in there and I remember there being a Juggernaught of Khorne somewhere else..

Shiny red Man Dollies! Needs more Melta.

Finally, a Win!

This post is a little late, wanted to do it Thursday evening but been busy with getting up early to work and needing lots of sleep. So heres the game from thursday against Francescos Marines. Looking back on it I've only fought Marines:
  • Blood Angels - Draw
  • Black Templars - Draw
  • Grey Knights  -Loss
  • Chaos Marines -Undecided (probably a win)
  • Space Wolves - Loss
  • Vanilla Marines - Win

Was a 6 objective fight, Dawn of War.

Francesco only had infantry and only about 4 ranged Tank killers and a few Meltas, I spent al my time shooting pie plates and tanks at Marines.

The Vets Outflanked on each side and took an objective on one and crushed the guys holding the other.

My command Squad and Heavy Weapons team held the left flank the whole game, with the Bane Wolf hiding until it could strike, then proceeding to kill 12 or so marines.

two Leman russ lived, although 1 was immobilised.

The Chimeras offered excellent fire support and a last minute load up and drive gave me the chance to take back my right objective, leaving me with the two middle objectives unclaimed, the Banewolf saw to that, many Marines died. My Right objective claimed, Francescos Right objective in my hands and my left one contested.

We did roll for another tunr but Fran only had 3 marines left and the Banewolf was pointing at two of them and the other faced the two russ and a couple of chimeras, and a Vendetta was there to mop up, just in case.

The Marine Line takes shape

The Marine line runs towards me, they all run.

They close in on the right flank.

Space wolves, so OP!

Just got back from WAC, almost got tabled, but not quite.

A lot of the Terrain didn't turn up till we'd already got started and we went with the old Books under the sheet method, well it was my Army trays.

Not got time to write things up fully right now but heres the deployment, Termagants were objectives, there might be an objective marker in Vassal somewhere, I don't know where.

The Transports are loaded with Guardsmen and "Team Jacob Marines" respectively, had to get that twilight dig in once.
In reserve:
Guard: Banewolf, Vendettas and Vets
Wolves: 2 Packs of Wolf Scouts.

And a couple of action shots, it neither ended well...

Blue Squad get stuck in!
The PCS put up a Valiant defense.

MUST DO BETTER!
